LIFESURE eco-asphalt design
Work has been done in two phases: milling characterisation and mix design.
1. Milling products characterisation:
Two different milling products of urban roads were sampled: material from surface layer at Asfaltos Vicalvaro plant and cores from Mendez Alvaro Street.
Milling product were classified in two fractions: 5/25 mm and 0/5 mm.
The analyzed milling products were valid for mixtures workable with good mechanical properties for the execution of tests sections.
2. Mix designs:
Has been developed a specif emulsion for two types of bituminous mixture
Three different emulsions were tested with milling products.

LIFESURE eco-asphalt design
Mixtures studied were asphalt concrete mixture (AC) continous grading for the roadway surface and intermediate.
Complete mix characterization was carried to define emulsion with rates of recycling asphalt of 100% and 70%.
